La Ferme

La Ferme Fortifié was the original fortified manor farmhouse built in the late 1600's at Poulmarvezen. It has a stone spiral staircase in a tower with a "meutrier", (a gun slit), there is a massive stone Breton fireplace, (complete with wood burning stove for cosy winter lets) and many other interesting exposed stonework details.

The property has been restored to a very high standard with three
en-suite bedrooms
(two doubles and one twin) on the first floor, accessed via the stone spiral staircase, and on the ground floor an enormous (37 feet long) open plan living/dining/kitchen area.

The original massive oak beams have been left exposed, including those in the three bedrooms and the upstairs landing. The exposed timber work and stonework is shown to its best by the contrasting white walls and the rose-coloured ceramic tile floor on the ground floor, and tasteful neutral carpeting throughout the bedroom areas.
